Directors
Candice E. Brooks, Ed. D.
I proudly identify as a first-generation college graduate and am deeply committed to supporting students who are the first in their families to attend college, come from low-income backgrounds, or live with a disability. In my work, I encourage our scholars to step outside of their comfort zones and pursue opportunities that align with their core values, strengths, and passions. My personal mission is “helping people help themselves,” and I am dedicated to guiding our scholars in becoming their best selves. I also believe that in order to give to others, we must first take excellent care of ourselves—a principle I hope to instill in the students I serve. Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, doggie snuggles, watching women’s basketball, exploring delicious foods, visiting libraries, cheering for the LA Lakers, and spending quality time with friends and family.
