The Office of Educational Opportunity and Enrichment Services offer transition assistance and support services to all students, along with specialized support and advocacy geared toward various student communities. Using a holistic approach, our programs aim to support student learning and personal development and offer a supportive environment for students to seek advice, build community and connect with an integrated network of resources.
First-Year Aggie Connections
First-Year Aggie Connections (FYAC) groups first-year students (freshmen and transfers, including international students) into 25-person “Connections” based on a shared purpose, interest, or theme. FYAC aims to foster opportunities that will empower students as they navigate their first-year at UC Davis.
Guardian Scholars Program
The Guardian Scholars Program is committed to improving the educational outcomes for foster youth and former foster youth by providing services and support to meet their needs through transition, graduation, and post-graduate planning.
Special Transitional Enrichment Program (STEP)
The UC Davis Special Transitional Enrichment Program (STEP) strives to enhance the academic and social experiences of first generation and low-income students. STEP begins with a 3-week summer residential program and continues for the first two years of enrollment.
TRiO Scholars Program
The TRiO Scholars Program, also known as Student Support Services (SSS), supports student persistence and graduation by promoting academic excellence, financial empowerment and community building. The federally-funded program serves 160 first generation and low income students.
Underground Scholars
The UC Davis Underground Scholars Program (USP) is a program for students who have been directly impacted by the criminal punishment system, including formerly incarcerated people or those with incarcerated family members.
